Are 15 contact hours the same as 15 CEU's?
Most states determine 1 contact hour = .1 CEU credit. Our on-site Workshops and Home Study courses on DVD each earn 15 contact hours (1.5 CEUs).
Are your courses pre-approved in my state?
ICE makes every effort to help therapists earn CEU credit to meet their state licensure requirements. All of our courses meet the necessary requirements for both OTs and PTs to maintain state licensure. For PTs and PTAs, we have submitted an application to each state that requires pre-approval of courses. For OTs and OTAs , we are an Approved Provider of the American Occupational Therapy Association and all of our courses earn PDUs for NBCOT national certification. States may change their requirements and we encourage every therapist to check with their own state organization.
Why isn’t my state isn’t on the list of pre-approved courses?
Many states don’t require pre-approval or don’t have an option for submitting applications for pre-approval. Also, a few states don’t have continuing education requirements for licensure. If a state is not on the list of “Pre-approved States”, it will still be acceptable and meet the CEU requirements of your state. States may change their requirements and we encourage every therapist to check with their own state organization.
What does "pre-approved" mean?
Courses that have been “pre-approved” means that we have submitted the application, paid the fees to the state and received confirmation that our courses have been approved by the state’s licensing board (or Board of Medical Examiners).
What if I am audited by my state licensing board?
All of your records (forms, exams, sign-in/sign-out sheets) are kept on file in our office. If you are ever audited, we can provide copies of any necessary documents that your state board requires proving you have completed one of our courses.
