About StrokeHelp®
Jan Davis founded StrokeHelp® and StrokeHelp.com through International Clinical Educators, Inc. (ICE) in 1996. The purpose of StrokeHelp.com was to provide educational resources and much needed support to clinicians, stroke survivors, caregivers and family members in order to improve quality of life issues following a stroke.
StrokeHelp.com, an innovative and cutting-edge resource in 1996, was founded as the internet was emerging and very little information re: stroke recovery was available online. For more than a decade, StrokeHelp® offered exceptional online educational information with links to websites worldwide, newsletters and videos.
In 2004, StrokeHelp® expanded its role in improving the quality of life for stroke survivors by creating multimedia educational resources for university and college PT, OT, PTA and OTA programs. The University Edition with Faculty Guide and the University Student Edition were the first multimedia resources of their kind combining texts with treatment videos of actual stroke survivors and therapists. More than 250 colleges and universities have included StrokeHelp® multimedia programs in their curriculum.
In 2009, ICE broadened the scope of StrokeHelp® and StrokeHelp.com offering innovative educational tools (such as the ICE Video Library) for other diagnoses and created the ICE Learning Center and ICELearningCenter.com.
